About Dana Sorensen
Dana Sorensen is a former Stanford pitching standout and three-time NFCA All-American who brings a unique blend of elite playing experience and data-driven innovation to the Carolina Blaze front office. After professional stints in the NPF and a USA Softball Elite Team selection, she built a career in coaching and softball analytics before being named the Blaze’s General Manager. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford and a master’s in exercise and sport science from UNC.
Career Highlights
- Three-time NFCA All-American pitcher at Stanford (2000-2004): 105-36 record, 1.05 ERA, 1,154 strikeouts, five no-hitters, two perfect games
- Two Women’s College World Series appearances with Stanford (2001, 2004); inducted into the Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015
- Played in the NPF (New England Riptide, Arizona Heat) and was a member of the USA Softball Elite Team (2005)
- Founder of Sorensen Elite Softball Pitching LLC; assistant coach at UC Davis and pitching coach at Oregon State
