FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas outfielder Dakota Kennedy was awarded the sixth AUSL Golden Ticket on Monday, April 6, 2026, with the presentation made by Athletes Unlimited Softball League Commissioner Kim Ng at Bogle Park following the Razorbacks’ series-closing win over Auburn.
Kennedy is hitting .351 with 12 home runs, 37 RBIs, and a perfect 7-for-7 stolen base record through 37 starts in 2026. She is a two-time NFCA All-American and the 2024 NFCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner at outfield. The Golden Ticket guarantees her a roster spot in the 2026 AUSL College Draft, which airs May 4 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
Two Programs, One Resume
Kennedy spent three seasons at Arizona before transferring to Arkansas as a graduate. At Arizona in 2024 she hit .400 with 13 home runs and finished the season without committing a single error in left field, the performance that earned her the NFCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award. In 2025 she hit .444 with a 1.228 OPS, 60 hits, and 28 walks while again maintaining a 1.000 fielding percentage. She was named NFCA Third Team All-American in both seasons, First Team All-Big 12 in 2025, and earned a Big 12 All-Defensive Team selection.
The move to Fayetteville for her final year of eligibility was a calculated bet on staying with what already worked. It has. Through 37 starts in 2026 she has 40 hits, 12 home runs, 37 RBIs, and a .949 fielding percentage. On March 1 against Kansas she hit three home runs in a single game.
What the Golden Ticket Means
The Golden Ticket is the AUSL’s pre-draft mechanism for guaranteeing elite college players a roster spot regardless of where teams choose to pick. A recipient cannot go undrafted. For Kennedy, the ticket arrived in her own ballpark, in front of her own crowd, with the league’s commissioner making the presentation in person — a model the AUSL has used for each of its first six Golden Ticket announcements.
Kennedy is the sixth player to receive a Golden Ticket in the 2026 cycle. The full class as of her selection:
- NiJaree Canady, RHP, Texas Tech (March 27)
- Reese Atwood, C, Texas (March 28)
- Leighann Goode, IF, Texas (March 28)
- Sydney Stewart, C, Arizona (March 29)
- Karlyn Pickens, RHP, Tennessee (April 2)
- Dakota Kennedy, OF, Arkansas (April 6)
Two more recipients followed Kennedy: Kenzie Brown of Arizona State (April 7) and Taryn Kern of Stanford (April 10). The AUSL has said the league plans to award 12 Golden Tickets total before draft night.
Through the Rest of the Season
Arkansas’s regular season continues into May, with SEC tournament play and the NCAA Tournament still ahead. Kennedy will have additional opportunities to add to her 2026 numbers before stepping into the AUSL.
The 2026 AUSL season opens June 9 across the league’s six franchises — the Utah Talons, Texas Volts, Carolina Blaze, Chicago Bandits, OKC Spark, and Portland Cascade. The Carolina Blaze hold the No. 1 overall pick in the May 4 draft.
