Sierra Sacco: Mississippi State All-American Drafted by Utah Talons

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State outfielder Sierra Sacco was selected by the Utah Talons as the No. 5 overall pick in the inaugural AUSL College Draft. Commissioner Kim Ng presented Sacco with the 10th golden ticket awarded by the league during an April 2025 game at Mississippi State.

Sacco was one of the most complete players in the 2025 draft class, combining elite contact hitting with speed and a flawless defensive record.

College Career

Sacco made 227 career starts at Mississippi State, posting a .397 career batting average with 272 hits, 13 home runs, 99 RBI, and 99 stolen bases in 137 attempts. She finished her career with zero errors in 157 chances — a perfect fielding record — with five outfield assists.

Her 2025 senior season was the best of her career: a .471 batting average (second-best in the SEC and top-15 nationally), 72 hits, 60 runs, a career-high 11 home runs, 49 RBI, and a .565 on-base percentage.
